3D modeling in Inspection Cloud is done by photogrammetry where regular images are being processed into 3D models and Point clouds.

The 3D models use the GPS locations from the images to create a model where you can create measurements and link data between your 2D images and the 3D location.

In the end it's all about context and the 3D helps you understand and visualize where e.g. damages are located and how big they are.

The 3D models can also be used to group the damages detected with Computer Vision. We have developed a feature called 3D vision to handle this process.

Requirements for 3D modeling:
3D modeling requires good data to produce good results. All images must have overlap and needs to follow some best practices to run automatically. We have a saying of "Shit in, Shit out". Please read the guide about image acqusition.
